Need someones help ex is messing my head up?

Right to cut the long story short. im 23 i met a man in a bar a year ago i was with someone so didn'tt take it any further we exchanged numbers was talking most days then one day he came round my sisters to help with her garden we had a talk decided to get together all ran smoothly then we broke updidn'tt talk etc got in contact again he made it clear no relationship (ididn't want one either) but he made me promise i would not sleep with anyone and same goes for him. I know all about stds so i wouldn't dream off it as putting me and him at risk. then we argue and dont talk again then 3 weeks later we do so things are back to normal he came round on my birthday left the next morning but was acting strange towards me til thursday then he told me wot he heard '' i meant to off said something about his child'' denied it as it wasn't true he believed me but then he said this has gotto stop we can only be mates so i accepted it even though i didn't like it. on one note his saying move on be happy which i will do but on the other note he is confusing me due to the fact its like it was back then were we constantly texts... he said we can meet up for a drink but because ive hurt my neck and on painkillers i cant so i said come round mine but he is weary why?
